Cape Winelands Tours offers exceptional trips to the beautiful and yet virtually undiscovered wine lands of South Africa. All the trips focus on fantastic wines and the food that accompanies them (see their recipe for Malva Pudding). Cape Winelands Tours introduces the traveler to this region known for its natural beauty and difficult past by focusing on its international future.

Lisa Hough, president of Cape Winelands Tours spent two years living in South Africa while her husband, a former diplomat, was stationed there. Having been trained as a chef and an avid wine lover, Lisa used her time discovering all the local growing regions and when returning to the U.S. created CWT to promote her passion for the country and its delightful wines.

CWT offers four main trips, including a Harvest Wine Lovers Tour in March and the Cape Wine Maker’s Guild Auction Tour in October. All the trips have a heavy focus on regional foods, as well as wines, for a complete culinary experience.

For those of you wanting to savor the wild nature of the region, extensions can be added to take advantage of safaris, an excursion along the Garden Route scenic tour or whale watching in the fall.
