Why We Like Them: By working closely with veterans groups and local governments, Historic Tours has been involved with the creation or dedication of many monuments in Europe and Australia, with many of its tours featuring dedication ceremonies. Independent day guides can be arranged when possible.

Specialty:  WWI and WWII Tours
Why We Like Them: By offering short trips, two-to-three days, general interest travelers can gain a sense of the sites and their meaning. Especially suited to this theme is Battlefield’s two-day trip to the Somme anniversary celebrations. Longer tours are available for those looking for a deeper understanding of the sites.

Specialty:  Pilgrimage tours to WWII cemeteries
Why We Like Them:  Remembrance offers more than 30 trips to the burial sites in Europe, North Africa and the Far East of fallen UK soldiers from both world wars. The company’s battlefield tours also include the African wars, the Crimea, both world wars and the 100 Years War.

Specialty: Short, in-depth tours of Civil War battles
Why We Like Them: This company’s guides are all leading authors and researchers in the field. In addition to this season’s two trips featuring the battles of General Lee, the company custom designs two-to-four-day trips for individual travelers.

Specialty: The Pacific theater battlefields and war monuments
Why We Like Them: Valor Tour’s president Bob Reynolds has been leading tours to battle sites of the Pacific for more than 35 years. His dedication to the history and remembrance of WWII’s Pacific battles has been instrumental in the creation and dedication of monuments throughout the region.
